Liberatum Pioneer Award — Venice Film Festival
VENICE, ITALY | 2024-2026
In September 2026, marking Liberatum's twenty-fifth anniversary, Myra returned for Liberatum Art & Cinema, a new multidisciplinary programme staged during the 83rd Venice Film Festival, with a portrait of Marina Abramović, recipient of the 2026 Liberatum Pioneer Award, alongside Lee Daniels and Nadine Labaki. Abramović has, since the 1970s, established performance art as a discipline in its own right, working through duration, presence, and physical risk to examine the relationship between artist and audience — a practice whose influence has since spread through the wider language of contemporary visual culture. That year, she became the first living woman artist honored with a major solo exhibition at Venice's Gallerie dell'Accademia in its more than 250-year history. The choice reflects Liberatum's long-standing interest in artists who have made the body itself a site of meaning. Two existing works from Love Notes were gifted to Daniels and Labaki as part of the presentation.

In September 2024, for the 81st edition, Liberatum commissioned a portrait of Ellen Burstyn for its Women in Creativity event, honoring the actress's seven-decade career. Myra and Ellen Burstyn did not speak before the portrait was made; working from the same layered-jewelry technique used throughout A Decorated Woman, Fiori dressed her as she imagined her. Burstyn arrived at the gala, held at the Blue Pavilion on Giudecca Island, in an outfit close enough to the portrait's own that both women were startled by the coincidence. Photo by Vanity Fair.

A Decorated Woman — Debut, D3082
VENICE, ITALY | 2022-2023
A Decorated Woman debuted at D3082 in Venice on November 18, 2022, installed as a street-level window show on Calle de le Sechere, visible around the clock; public response extended the run to February 10, 2023. Scouting the venue's terrace ahead of the opening, Fiori was told it wasn't a good day to see it — it was laundry day, and the building's female residents had underwear drying on the line. For the opening party itself, she kept the clotheslines up and bought fifty pairs of women's underwear in a range of colors and sizes to hang alongside them, then left the whole display for the building's residents to take at the end of the night — practical, sustainable decor built entirely around the ordinary, overlooked domestic labor the exhibition itself was addressing.
Tree of Human Life — Louis Vuitton Bicentennial
Tree of Human Life, Fiori's contribution to Louis Vuitton's bicentennial, was commissioned by Liberatum — one of two hundred visionaries selected worldwide to interpret the brand's iconic trunk, alongside Hans Ulrich Obrist, BTS, Frank Gehry, and Gloria Steinem. Conceived with Liberatum founder Pablo Ganguli, the piece sets a pink universe built from Fiori's jewelry-based stars and planets behind photographs by Kevin Oux of bodies of varied shapes and ethnicities suspended mid-flight, read as a meditation on human interconnection. The digital artwork first rotated through 500 Louis Vuitton store windows worldwide and across the brand's social platforms; a physical version, built in layers of plexiglass with internal lighting, then toured as part of the global exhibition 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries — premiering in France before traveling to Antwerp, Venice, Singapore, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York.

All For Silver — 20 Santi per la Città
In Palermo, All For Silver — the Mother Mary work from A Decorated Woman — became a permanent installation in Piazza Aragona as part of 20 Santi per la Città, a project restoring abandoned votive niches across the city's historic center with newly commissioned contemporary iconography. Conceived by Luca Lo Sicco and David Carrigan and produced by the APPA Museum, the initiative treated the shrines' original religious function as a deliberate frame, reviving neglected public spaces with images built to carry the same devotional weight the niches were designed for.

In June 2018, Fiori's work was included in Breaking Myth, a group exhibition of fourteen American and European artists at Palazzo d'Aumale and Museo Riso, staged as part of Palermo Capitale della Cultura and Manifesta 12, the nomadic biennial's edition themed The Planetary Garden. Cultivating Coexistence. Curated by Dr. Luca Lo Sicco around the concept of metamorphosis, the exhibition opened to the public on June 16, followed by a week of lectures and workshops at Palazzo Riso.
